I chose Florida Southern because I wanted the institution I was spending four years at to feel like a home and hands down Florida Southern has become my home. The minute I stepped foot on this campus I loved the atmosphere and new I wanted to be a Moc! You really are a name not a number here. It is also so easy to become involved and find the organizations that help drive your passion in life.
I am the Vice President of Lambda Pi Eta, the Communications Honor Society, and here we put on events for the department as well as have fundraisers to give back to our chosen organization, the SPCA. I am also heavily involved in the Admissions Office. This is my fourth year giving tours as well as my second year being an intern. Throughout my time here I have learned so much and have loved every minute of it!
My favorite class so far has been my Interpersonal Communications course. In this course we learn all about one on one communication whether it is through friends, family, or romantic relationships. We were able to learn about conflict, resolution, and stages of relationships as well as many other topics on a more deeper level. It really opened my eyes on how I should start seeing others and that maybe there is a reason why someone responds the way they do.
My favorite spot in Lakeland has to be Lake Mirror. Lake Mirror is located downtown, about 5 minutes from FSC and is my favorite place to take some food to-go from downtown and watch the sunsets. It is such a safe and calming space for me where I love to just go and relax and recollect after a hard week.
