Go thrift shopping around Lakeland or go to Disney World! My close friends and I have annual passes so we love to go for a day trip on the weekends, or sometimes we head over for dinner on a Friday. If it’s a night in, I love to bake and watch movies with my friends.
I chose Florida Southern after having a fantastic experience at Scholars Weekend during my senior year of high school and realizing it’s the only school I visited that made me feel welcomed and at home since day one! I absolutely love the small class sizes and the personal connections I have made with my professors. Although I am only a sophomore, I already feel extremely connected to the school and have learned so much about my future career field in my classes.
I absolutely love going to the farmer’s market in downtown Lakeland on Saturday mornings with my friends! Sometimes we ride bikes from the Wellness Center to get there for an extra fun day! The farmer’s market is a fantastic way to support local businesses and to discover different places in the area. It’s a great place to eat breakfast, walk around, and also meet some adorable dogs!
So far, "Fake News," which was my freshman honors seminar, has been my favorite class. The class focused on many different conspiracy theories, but also featured discussions on theories of truth and featured readings from several famous philosophers. I particularly enjoyed this class because I think conspiracy theories are super intriguing, but it also completely changed the way I look at the world.
