Class of 2022
Hometown: St. Augustine, FL

Honestly, my favorite class has been General Chemistry One. It also was perhaps the hardest class I've ever taken. I was in Gen. Chem. One my very first semester at FSC, and it was such a fantastic way to truly see first hand the helpfulness and willingness on behalf of the professors to help me succeed. I never had trouble meeting with my professor, and he was so helpful and encouraging, I really felt like I found my footing in chemistry by the end of the course.
I am the treasurer for our school's chapter of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), which is such a fun time! I am currently helping to organize a professors versus students dodgeball tournament! I am also a part of our astronomy club, our on-campus book club, math club, and a member of the Polk Science community!
Before touring FSC, I had never felt that definite "click," that connection to a school, that I had always heard about. I hadn't felt at home anywhere. However, when I was touring FSC, I just knew this would be my new home for the next four years. I don't think I had passed by a single person who didn't smile back at me, or who didn't look genuinely happy at where they were. It seemed like the perfect environment, and I knew I had to be a part of it.
My absolute favorite place in Lakeland is Lake Morton! It's only about a half mile from campus (really easy to walk to!) and has the most beautiful swans I've ever seen. It's so clear as to why Lakeland's symbol is the swan when you are looking out onto Lake Morton. I love going there with my friends to de-stress from classes, and feed all of the birds!
