My favorite FSC memory is definitely winter wonderland night out on Mr. George's Green. The school brought in snow and made a sledding hill which was really special to me since I am from Minnesota. The event also had s'mores, a bounce house, a DJ, and a huge Christmas tree and it really just made me very happy. I also got to enjoy the even with my closest friend who I also met on campus which made it even better. I will never forget my first winter wonderland celebration here.
I chose Florida Southern because of the wonderful opportunities, as well as the community. I am a transfer student, and when I was looking for the perfect school to go to, Florida Southern just caught my eye right away. I loved the location as well as the weather (being from Minnesota) and I felt like it would be a place where I would feel at home. I heard about the school through a friend who had already spent a year here, and the way she described the people and the atmosphere had me sold immediately and coming to this school my expectations have not only been met, but exceeded. I love my school and I am very proud to go here.
In my spare time, I like to practice my vocal work and also practice new dance moves in my apartment's common room. I also make many trips to Disney and enjoy meeting fellow performers there and look at my opportunities as to performing there myself one day. I also really love to just go out and explore the city and find new places to go and enjoy. There are a lot of on-campus events that are truly special and I have never been disappointed in a single event that I have attended. This campus really does have everything you need if you are unable to travel far outside campus which I believe is important.
My favorite thing to do in Lakeland is hands down walk around the lake. I love specifically walking during sunset, as the weather is nice and the view is unbeatable. I also love to see all of the happy people also walking around the lake. The positive energy that is there really impacts me every time I go for a walk around the lake. My other favorite spot is specifically on campus, and it is the small bench swing right outside the wellness center. I often will wing there and write papers during the day overlooking the lake and that is when I am working at my best.
