Tour Guide at Florida Southern College
Class of 2021
Hometown: Barrington, IL
Major: Nursing
I love the small community feel here at FSC, the abundance of opportunities to get involved, and the beautiful campus that we get to call home! I also truly believe the nursing program here is the perfect fit for me because I love all the professors in the nursing department, we experience engaged learning on a daily basis, class sizes are small, and I feel like I'm being very well prepared to dive into my field after graduation. I couldn't imagine calling anywhere else home and I'm so thankful for the world class experience Florida Southern has given me for the past three years!
On campus I loved being involved as the 2020 President of Panhellenic Council, which is the governing body for all sororities on campus. I'm also a Resident Advisor (serving freshmen students in Wesley 2018-19, Greek Village 2019-20, and Lake Morton Area Houses 2020-21), I'm a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, and I'm a Scholars Weekend Leader. Additionally, I served as a Front Desk Assistant at our Student Solutions Center for two years and a Student Development Officer for a semester. Outside of FSC, I'm a Nursing Informatics Intern at Zebra Technologies and I'm a Student Nurse Intern at Advent-Health Sebring's ER.
My favorite thing to do in Lakeland is grab a bite to eat with some friends! Abuelo's, Tea Largo, Patio 850, HTeaO, Born and Bread, and Palace Pizza are my absolute favorites here in Lakeland and I honestly could not recommend them enough!
My favorite class so far has been my Adult Health Nursing Care II class because this class truly taught me how to think like a nurse. While learning about various acute illnesses that widely affect the adult population, we learned how to think critically, prioritize patient-centered care, and develop our clinical reasoning skills. My professor for the course, Dr. Radecki, is also one of the best professors I've ever had. She's so passionate about teaching and I felt truly cared about as a person and as a student in her class.
