When I first visited Florida Southern, I fell in love with it for its academic programs, small-college feel, and location, but the aspect that really set it apart from the other colleges I was looking at was the community. Florida Southern is such a positive, loving place, and I wanted to be a part of that.
My favorite class was my honors public speaking course last semester. There were only eight of us, so it was a very close-knit and supportive little group. We talked a lot about things we were passionate about, and at the end of our semester, our final speech was a 20-minute presentation on something we would like to change on our campus. My partner and I chose recycling. I loved that class because I saw a lot of growth in myself and my public speaking skills and because it helped me discover and develop my own opinions on several topics.
My favorite spot in Lakeland is Black & Brew! I love their toast and coffee, and it's a great place to go study or hang out with friends. I'm excited for the new location that they are planning on opening closer to campus!
I am involved in Greek Life, the Mocappellas (VP of Marketing), the Honors Program, and of course the theatre and dance departments.
