My favorite course has been Teaching Language Arts 2 and Differentiated Instruction. In this class, I was developed my own research project and worked with elementary students at Florida Southern’s lab school. I also shared my research on arts integration with the other pre-service teachers while we met for class at the Polk Museum of Art.
The beautiful campus and close proximity to home definitely left a great first impression when I first visited, and the incredible community we have on campus has truly made Florida Southern my college home. Between all of the incredible faculty members to all of my peers, we have such a tight-knit community of innovative and compassionate people that I’m proud to be part of.
Go to Disney! Heading over to the parks after classes for dinner and fireworks is one of my favorite things to do. I also love reading and collecting books for my future classroom library!
My favorite spot in Lakeland is Concord Coffee! It’s the best place to study, catch up with friends, and get the best locally roasted coffee. My recommendation is a honey cinnamon latte and an amazing pastry from one of our local bakeries, Honeycomb Bread!
