Alumnus at Florida Southern College
Class of 2019
Current: Cape Coral, FL
Major: Nursing
I chose Florida Southern because I fell in love with its warm community during my first visit as a junior in high school. I was welcomed with opened arms by everyone I met and I truly felt at home. I love how strong the academics are, how personable the staff is, and how easy it is to get involved. I knew that I could make Florida Southern my home for the next four years and felt confident that when I graduated, I would be fully prepared to enter the field of nursing.
My favorite activity in Lakeland is grabbing a bite to eat with my friends downtown. There are so many great restaurants to choose from! My favorites include Palace Pizza and Black and Brew. Both are equally delicious and have great spaces to hang out with friends.
Explore Lakeland and its other surrounding cities, especially the coffee shops. There are so many unique places around FSC and my friends and I like to be adventurous and most importantly drink good coffee.
My favorite memory at Florida Southern was Southern Takeover 2018. This was the first time I had experienced this event on Mr. George’s Green and it was unforgettable. The Association of Campus Entertainment brought in great bands such as Joan and American Authors and they had several activities and free food for the students to enjoy. Also, at the end of the concert, I met some of the band members personally. It was truly an unforgettable night.
