Tour Guide at Florida Southern College
Class of 2021
Hometown: Lakeland, FL
Secondary Major: Psychology
Minor: Chemistry and Neuroscience
On campus I am involved in campus ministries, academic honor societies (such as Beta, Beta, Beta and the National Society of Leadership and Success), the Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity, intramurals, and am a Resident Advisor in for freshman in Wesley. One of my favorite organizations that I am involved in is the Pre-dental society, which involves some fun events throughout the semester such as dinner with dentists and learning to suture on fruits.
One of my favorite things to do in Lakeland is to go to the Saturday morning farmers market and hang out and study in our many coffee shops. It is a great time to experience some of the best features Lakeland has to offer.
Growing up in Lakeland, I regularly attended sporting events and Florida Southern’s annual homecoming activities. Other colleges I've toured nationwide did not feel like home to me, as FSC has always felt. Also, both my parents attended FSC, so I do feel a sense of belonging here as a legacy. Through my involvement on campus, I know I made the right decision, as there’s nowhere else I’d rather be than at FSC.
So far, one of my favorite classes at FSC has been Sensation and Perception. Being a double major in biology and psychology, I found that this course was the perfect combination of both anatomy and physiology. It also touched on the vital act of receiving and interpreting information. This course was engaging as well as thought provoking, and one of my favorite memories was when we held class in a local breakfast diner. I love how the small class sizes at FSC make it extremely feasible to be involved and have a one-on-one relationship with professors.
