Why Florida Southern?

I chose to attend Florida Southern College because of the excellent programs it has for students. The Junior Journey travel program is great because it gives every student the opportunity to study abroad. Florida Southern's Nursing program stands out from other schools as the direct entry into their program allows the students to begin clinical rotations their sophomore year. These two programs along with the friendly campus environment and academic success are why I chose to attend Florida Southern College.

What is your favorite FSC memory?

Although I have made many great memories throughout my time at Florida southern, my Junior Journey to the British Virgin Islands led to some fantastic experiences. During the trip, we lived on a Power Catamaran, yachted around to various islands, learned about the island culture, snorkeled in the crystal clear water, and planted trees to help contribute to the restoration of Virgin Gorda post Hurricane Irma. It was an incredible adventure and I am grateful to have had the opportunity!

What has been your favorite class?

My favorite course at FSC was my "Beginning Yoga" class. Aside from increasing my overall flexibility, the Beginning Yoga class helped calm me. If I was stressed about an exam or schoolwork coming up later in the week, I had a more relaxed and peaceful outlook after practicing yoga. Additionally, I found that I could focus better when I was studying. I plan to continue to practice yoga at least once a week if not more to continue to develop a more relaxed outlook on stressors that I encounter throughout life.

Involvement (clubs/organizations):

I am a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society of Nursing, National Student Nurses’ Association, National Society of Leadership and Success, Society of Collegiate Leadership and Achievement, and Greek life. Additionally, I am the Treasurer of Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and the Constituency Chair for FSC’s Student Nurses’ Association.
